In essence, the Sufi group entails a culture of philanthropy and has recognized the need of having a strong social conscience. As our late founder, Hadayat Ullah Sufi also believed that it is not the choice but the fundamental responsibility of the nation’s entrepreneurs to be engaged in the promotion of human welfare, the Sufi Group has undertaken four CSR projects viz. Al Habeeb Eye Hospital, Free Dispensary, Sufi School of Special Learners and opening of Women’s Imaging Ward in Shaukat Khanam, all of which focus on addressing the needs of the lesser privileged.

In 2006, the Sufi group established the Al-Habib Eye Hospital and free dispensary. The specialist optometrist team at the hospital catered to the eye care needs of thousands of underprivileged patients suffering from cataract, semi-blindness, infections and other ailments. Not only are their medicinal needs are met free of cost at the dispensary, but annually the group holds a free eye care camp that is advertised across the city; Patients from surrounding areas come to the camp and are treated free of cost. This project has increased awareness of the hospital is various medical circles as well as the local community and has aided the growth of the hospital immensely. Consistent with the goal to improve healthcare facilities, in 2013 Sufi funded the Women’s Imaging Ward at Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital in efforts to aid Breast Cancer Awareness. Moreover, the group has introduced a teaching facility for children with learning disabilities by the name of Sufi School of Special Learners. With the help of its well-trained faculty, the school strives to meet the educational needs of a regrettably marginalized community. Looking forward, we as a corporation aspire to keep serving the land and people that have allowed us to thrive.
